The Hexagon Absolute Arm V3P 8540 7-Axis is a high-precision portable coordinate measuring machine (CMM) from the 85 Series, designed for tactile probing and 3D laser scanning.
With a 4.0 m measuring range (4.48 m max reach), it combines extended reach with higher accuracy than the 83 Series. It is ideal for large-scale inspection, reverse engineering, and surface analysis in aerospace, automotive, and heavy industry.
The 7-axis configuration enables efficient use of laser scanners for fast data capture in inspection, CAD comparison, and quality control. The system supports quick switching between scanning and probing without recalibration. A modular scanner can be removed for tight areas.
Absolute Encoder technology eliminates warm-up and referencing, ensuring immediate and consistent performance. Carbon-fiber construction provides rigidity and thermal stability in demanding environments.
The Zero-G counterbalance system improves ergonomics and reduces operator fatigue during extended use.
Compatible with PolyWorks, SpatialAnalyzer, and PC-DMIS.
