ITEM'S DESCRIPTION
Leica BLK ARC is an autonomous laser scanning module designed for robotic platforms to perform automated reality capture with minimal human intervention. The system enables fully autonomous mobile laser scanning when integrated with robotic carriers such as the Boston Dynamics Spot robot.
By combining LiDAR scanning, panoramic imaging and advanced positioning technologies, the BLK ARC allows robots to capture highly detailed 3D point clouds and imagery while navigating complex environments.
Using Leica GrandSLAM technology, which integrates LiDAR SLAM, Visual SLAM and an IMU, the BLK ARC enables precise positioning and autonomous navigation even in GNSS-denied environments such as industrial plants, underground structures and indoor facilities.
With the browser-based BLK ARC UI interface, users can remotely plan scan missions using existing building drawings or BIM models. The robot can then autonomously follow the planned route to perform repeatable scan missions and capture up-to-date site conditions.
The system supports both static and mobile scanning modes within a single mission, allowing flexible reality capture workflows for complex environments.
Captured data can be uploaded directly to Leica HxDR cloud platform or processed in Leica Cyclone software for visualization, analysis and digital twin creation.
Typical applications include:
• autonomous building and infrastructure documentation
• industrial facility scanning
• underground and mining inspections
• utility infrastructure monitoring
• digital twin creation and progress monitoring
The BLK ARC improves productivity by enabling safe, repeatable and fully autonomous reality capture missions using robotic carriers.
